I started my career in social services by volunteering for three different crisis lines in three different states. One of my gifts is being a good person to turn to in a crisis. Most people who seek therapy are in some type of crisis. Whether your problem presents as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, stress about family, career or self-worth, you deserve a good listener.
I am a mom and a wife. I’m also a survivor of sexual abuse and sexual assault and have navigated the diagnosis of PTSD for myself for almost a decade. I try to bring my whole self into the therapy session and encourage my clients to do the same.
I am a white, queer cis woman and am constantly examining my privilege and biases. I am from a Latinx background and feel comfortable working with and navigating many different cultures. I am kink-friendly, sex-work positive and queer, trans and non-binary-affirming. I believe that Black Lives Matter. I work from an anti-racist and anti-colonial lens. Expect to be challenged on your privileges!
I am certified in EMDR which requires two years of extra training and consultation. I have specialized trainings in Dissociation, Somatic Integration and Processing, using Yoga in EMDR, Expressive Arts integration in EMDR and integrating Nature into EMDR. I draw on 20 years+ of experience in working as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault as well as being a provider for Intensive Outpatient therapy for folks struggling with addiction.
My private practice is a chance to do more of what I most enjoy: listen and hold space for people in hard times while giving guidance and offering suggestions based on experience and evidence. I find that I am usually energized after therapy sessions, even very hard ones, because I can see change and movement in the direction of the client’s goals and that excites me. I absolutely love my work and feel extremely fortunate to meet the people I work with!
My schedule for therapy appointments includes weekdays only, between 10 am and 4 pm.
