Weekly individual EMDR sessions
Waitlist only until May 2025 (see intensives for sooner appointments).
When you come into my office, I start by figuring out what you want to work on and what brought you in the door. I determine how your body and mind are being affected by symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma responses.
I get baseline information from screening tools that help us know where we are starting and then we work together to put together a plan of treatment goals that will get you to a place of peace, comfort, and
safety within yourself and feelings of love and joy.
I believe therapy is a collaborative journey toward wellness in mind, body and spirit where my job is to give you tools for coping differently. I also help you process traumatic past experiences. Just like a doctor who helps you heal a broken bone by setting the bone in the right position, I help you heal your Self by setting up an ideal environment within your Self for your brain to heal. When a doctor sets a bone, they don’t actually tell the body how to heal, the body already knows how to do so. In the same way, your brain already knows how to heal from traumatic or hard experiences and we just have to help it become ‘unstuck’. And because we are not just in our mind, we also may have stored pain and trauma in our body. Somatic practices help move the stuckness out of the body. Healing is possible, I've seen EMDR work and it worked for me.
Sessions are 55 minutes long and take place inside my office or virtually via secure video session.
If appropriate, Nature-based EMDR will be offered. Nature-based EMDR involves walking on a trail alongside nearby Fall Creek and working through traumatic memories in that context along with mindfulness and other somatic practices.
